Double anniversary celebrations for Armin Riedl
01/05/2015
  • Managing director has worked for Kombiverkehr for 25 years and spent 15 years as the helm of Lokomotion, a traction company specialising in transalpine freight

(Frankfurt/Main, 5 January 2015) Armin Riedl, managing director of Frankfurt-based Kombiverkehr KG, the operator of Europe's largest range of train services for intermodal transport, celebrated a double anniversary on 1 January: 25 years with Kombiverkehr and 15 years with its subsidiary, Lokomotion.

Riedl, who was born in Wetzlar in 1961, began working as a management assistant at Kombiverkehr in 1990 after gaining a degree in economics with a particular emphasis on the transport industry, marketing and finance. As managing director, he has been in charge of human resources, data processing, finance, technology and investments since 1993. When Kombiverkehr tackled the issue of rail traction across the Alps by using its own project company at the end of the 1990s, Armin Riedl was the obvious person to be entrusted with this job," said Gudrun Winner-Athens, chair of the Administrative Board of Kombiverkehr. Riedl thus became managing director of the newly formed Lokomotion Gesellschaft für Schienentraktion mbH at the start of 2000.
